ADSL – Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line . Most common type of broadband

FTTC – Fibre to the cabinet , then copper connection to the premises. 

CLIP – Calling line identity presentation . The number displayed on outgoing calls  

Router – Device that connects your network to Service Provider.

Switch – equipment that allows multiple devices to connect to router
